Kazakhstan toughens control over foreign carriers

Kazakh Minister for Investment and Development Zhenis Kasymbek announced that the country has tightened the control over foreign carriers passing through the territory of Kazakhstan.

Over the past seven days, more than 2,700 vehicles were checked, Kasymbek said during a briefing at the Central Communications Service Oct. 17.

The monitoring revealed 193 violations, the bulk of which falls on Kyrgyz carriers - 60% (117), on Russian carriers - 20% (38) and the rest 20% ​​(38) for other carriers - Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, etc..

Since early 2017, 58,655 foreign vehicles have been monitored, 2,538 violations have been detected, the major part of which falls on Kyrgyz carriers - 933 violations.

The main violations made by Kyrgyz carriers are the absence of consignment notes, excess weight, lack of a travel authorization form issues by Kazakh side and others.

The minister reminded that the excess weight huge damage to roads. Over the past period, only the amount of fees and fines for overload was about 5 million tenge.
