ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 18. The volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan amounted to $464 million from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of trade turnover decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($467 million).
At the same time, exports to Tajikistan for the above period amounted to $376.4 million, which is 19 percent more than January–May 2023 ($316.4 million).
In addition, imports from Tajikistan from January through May 2024 decreased by 42.1 percent and amounted to $87.6 million. From January through May 2023, imports amounted to $151.2 million.
To note, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan amounted to $1.13 billion in 2023. Trade is dominated by Kazakh exports to Tajikistan, which totaled $860 million, while imports from Tajikistan amounted to $271 million.
