BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Construction of Bala-Saruu hydropower plant at the Kirov water reservoir in the Talas region is underway in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Ministry, the Bala-Saruu HPP is planned to be put into operation at the end of 2023.

At the moment, the materials required for the construction of the high-voltage transmission line of the future small HPP have been delivered.

"Almost all of the iron materials needed for the construction of water pipes that ensure the operation of units of the Bala-Saru HPP have been transported to the relevant storage facilities in Bishkek," the ministry said.

The project involves construction of a hydropower plant with 3 generators with a total capacity of 25 megawatts with an average annual electricity generation of 92 million kilowatt-hours. The volume of required funding sources, according to the feasibility study, is $22.9 million.
