BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 27. Trade between Italy and Kyrgyzstan has been on the rise, with a particular focus on Italian agricultural machinery, Ferdinando Pelazzo, the President of Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce told Trend.
According to Pelazzo, Italy can supply agricultural machinery to Kyrgyzstan, while Kyrgyzstan can provide high-quality textiles to Italy.
“Among the most promising areas for collaboration between Kyrgyzstan and Italy are the textile sector and the agro-industrial sector, although the tourism sector (including tourism to the mineral springs) also holds potential for development”, he said.
Pelazzo pointed out that one of the main objectives of the recent agreement signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan and Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce is to familiarize Italians with Kyrgyzstan and its investment prospects.
He also mentioned that in September or October of this year, a delegation of potential buyers from Kyrgyzstan interested in purchasing tractors and sewing equipment will arrive in Italy.
According to State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, trade turnover between the countries amounted to $30 million from January through May 2023, which is 99 percent more than in the same period of 2022 ($15.1 million).
