BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 13. Kyrgyzstan's import of passenger cars from Germany has taken a two-fold nosedive in 10 months of 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the Kyrgyz National Committee on Statistics shows that the imported car number amounted to 2,461 against 5,204 in the same period of 2023.
Meanwhile, the import value was $93.64 million, down 2.3 times from $218.2 million in 2023.
To note, overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 112,985 passenger cars from January through October 2024, which is 12.5 percent less than 129,031 cars in the same months of 2023. The value of the imports totaled $1.487 billion, declining by 24.8 percent over $1.97 billion in 10 months of last year.
The country's foreign trade turnover reached $13.4 billion from January through October 2024, which is a 6.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
The exports rose by 25.2 percent year-on-year to $3.12 billion, while imports increased by 1.8 percent to $10.3 billion.
