TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 10. Uzbekcosmos space agency plans to introduce InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) technologies to all strategically important sites across Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
This was discussed at a meeting with Uzbekcosmos and representatives of Japanese Synspective company specializing in space monitoring and radar technology.
The meeting focused on discussing seismology and monitoring of deformation of dams and reservoir banks during the upcoming year.
There are also plans to introduce InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) technologies to all strategically important sites across Uzbekistan.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to sign a memorandum and discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of education.
Synspective company has unique technologies of radar satellite interferometry data processing offered by several providers.
One of Synspective's key projects is the development of SAR (synthetic aperture radar) technology, which allows processing and interpretation of high-resolution radar images for the Earth's surface at any time of day and under any weather conditions. This radar image processing technique provides information on the displacement/deformation of the earth's surface and objects, which makes it possible to identify risk areas for possible destruction, waterlogging and other disaster emergencies.
Japan has considerable experience in monitoring deformation and seismic activity, and is an experienced leader in ensuring a high level of safety in the operation of facilities in areas with high seismic risk.
