Iran voices volumes of product imports from Tajikistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 11. Iran's import of products from Tajikistan amounted to about 8,000 tons worth $19.2 million during 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to statistics, Iran's imports of products from Tajikistan decreased by 5 percent in value and increased by 5 percent in weight for 3 months compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023).

The statistics indicate that during the 3 months of last year, Iran's imports of products from Tajikistan amounted to 7,640 tons worth $20.3 million.

The information notes that during the 3 months, Iran mainly imported cotton, silk fabrics, various equipment, etc. from Tajikistan.

Meanwhile, during the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Iran's imports of products from Tajikistan decreased by 3.86 percent in value and increased by 6.23 percent in weight terms compared to the previous year. Iran's imports from Tajikistan amounted to 29,600 tons, worth about $76.6 million.

Iran's imports of non-oil products during the 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024) amounted to 9.4 million tons worth $14.3 billion. During the 3 months, imports of non-oil products increased by 1.4 percent in value and 7.8 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing the products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on the importation of products manufactured in the country.
