Iran announces non-oil export volumes from Gilan province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20. The export of non-oil products from Gilan province, located in northern Iran, amounted to 337,000 tons worth $172 million during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024), according to Teymour Pour Heydari, chairman of the Industrial, Mining, and Trade Organization of Gilan province, Trend reports.

During these three months, approximately $75 million worth of agricultural products, $55 million worth of industrial products, $22 million worth of mining products, and $19 million worth of petrochemical and other products were exported from Gilan province, he said.

The official noted that 607,000 tons of products worth $334 million were imported to Gilan province during the same period. The value of imports decreased by 40 percent and the weight by 5 percent compared to the same period last year.

Pour Heydari stated that $166 million worth of industrial products, $145 million worth of agricultural products, $20 million worth of mining minerals, and $3 million worth of petrochemical products were imported during these three months.

Furthermore, according to the statistics from Iran's Customs Administration, Iran exported 38 million tons of non-oil products worth $13.5 billion during the first three months of the current Iranian year. This represents a decrease of 7.6 percent in value and 5.6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

Iran's imports of non-oil products amounted to 9.4 million tons worth $14.3 billion during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024). During this period, non-oil imports increased by 1.4 percent in value and 7.8 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
