BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22. A total of 4 facilities worth 47 trillion rials (about $120 million) will be put into operation in Iranian ports during the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), the statement of Iran's Ministry of Roads and Urban Development said, Trend reports.
A 100,000-ton warehouse in Iran's Chabahar port costing 20 trillion rials (about $51.1 million) this year, 3 oil loading and unloading platforms in Shahid Rajaee port costing 10 trillion rials (about $25.6 million), Chabahar port a 1.8-km-long road costing 9 trillion rials (about $23 million) will be put into use, and a special road worth 8 trillion rials (about $20.4 million) will be put into use at Nowshahr port.
Furthermore, during the current Iranian year, 37 ships and several port supplies on which 140 million euros have been spent, a 63.2-kilovolt substation on which 1.5 trillion rials (about $3.83 million) have been spent in the port of Shahid Rajaee, and a coast guard on which 2.45 trillion rials have been spent (about $6.26 million) will be put into operation.
During the last 4 months (from March 20 through July 21, 2024), 50,000 tons of oil loading and unloading platforms were built in Iran's Chabahar port, for which 16 trillion rials (about $40.8 million) were spent, and an oil export platform with 2 granaries, for which 7 trillion rials (about $17.9 million) and a ramp (slipway), for which funds (about $5.11 million) were expended, was put into operation.
To note, the existing capacity of Iran's ports is more than 285 million tons. Iran is taking steps to increase the capacity of ports by 500 million tons.
