BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9. The export of non-oil products via Kurdistan Province, located in western Iran, increased by 41 percent in value and 129 percent in weight terms during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023), the controller of customs in Iran's Kurdistan Province Faramarz Omidi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 131,000 tons of non-oil products worth $530 million have been imported through the customs of Iran's Kurdistan Province during the six months.
Omidi added that gold bars, aluminum ingots, production equipment, spare parts, and raw materials were mainly imported through provincial customs.
The official noted that the products were mainly imported from Iraq, the UAE, Austria, Türkiye, China, and Italy.
Meanwhile, Iran imported non-oil products worth $32.6 billion during the mentioned period.
To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing products that are necessary for the country and imposes certain restrictions on importing products manufactured in the country.
