Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The supporters of the United Opposition of Georgia concluded the movement on the 26 May square. About 5,000 people take part in the rally. David Gamkrelidze, one of the leaders of United opposition, commenced the rally. Gamkrelidze congratulated the participants on the Independence Day and stated that Georgia declared its independence in 1918. "At present, we protest against the interests of the United States and other forces of Georgia, rather than Saakashvili's regime," Gamkrelidze said.
Gamkrelidze submitted a memorandum, where opposition demands to hold new elections as the parliamentary elections on 21 May were faked.
Memorandum was signed by United Opposition leaders and other oppositions parties.
The representaives from Labour, Republicans, Christian-Democratic and other parties also joined the rally.
