The United Arab Emirates foreign minister is expected to arrive in Yemeni capital Sanaa on Saturday to outline the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) conciliation plan to break deadlock in power transfer in Yemen, Yemeni state news agency Saba reported on Thursday.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahayan, the GCC rotating president, is expected to outline GCC-mediated views to Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and opposition representatives for ending Yemen's three-month crisis, Xinhua reported.

Saba said al-Nahayan's proposed solutions will be based on the recent GCC meetings with Yemeni political rivals in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, a government official said GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani arrived in Sanaa on Thursday to hold consultations with President Saleh and the opposition regarding the GCC meetings of Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.

In their latest meeting on April 10, the GCC foreign ministers floated a proposal calling for Saleh to transfer power to his vice president and form a unity government headed by the opposition.

Massive anti-Saleh demonstrations continued in Thursday in major provinces, including Sanaa, to demand an immediate end to his 33-year rule.
