Parliament will return from summer recess on the first day of October, when Gül will address deputies on the impact of internal disputes on the economy and call for all political figures in the country to settle their disputes, reported Timeturk.
Gül is expected to make mention of recent fluctuations in the Turkish economy and the role played by incessant rows among political parties. He will also call on the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and opposition parties, namely the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), to settle their disputes and give priority to Turkey's EU bid.
Gül had also called on politicians to maintain unity in the country during a ceremony to commemorate the 727th anniversary of the founding of the Ottoman Empire, on Sept. 15.
