Iran wants to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of security, police and the border service, said the Interior Minister of Iran Mostafa Mohammad Najjar during his meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Javanshir Akhundov, the official website of the Interior Ministry of Iran reported.
Najjar will visit Azerbaijan. This visit will create conditions for strengthening relations between the two countries, said the Interior Minister of the Islamic Republic.
"The development of relations between the border cities of both countries, as well as economic and trade relations will create conditions for prosperity in the region," said Najjar.
According to the minister, the countries in the region are able to ensure peace and security in the region.
"For their own interests, the external forces are not interested in solving problems of the region. Indeed, the problems existing in the region occurred due to the presence of external forces," said Najjar.
During the meeting the Ambassador of Azerbaijan noted that the Azerbaijani government and people are interested in developing relations with the government and people of Iran.
"Azerbaijan is ready to develop relations with Iran in all spheres," said Akhundov.
During Najjar's visit to Baku, he is supposed to sign an agreement in the sphere of security.
