The Executive Committee of the Georgian Football Federation disqualified five Georgian football players for life, after they were accused of participating in fixed matches.
The Executive Committee's nine members voted for this decision and eight members supported the five-year-long disqualification, Georgian Football Federation President Zviad Sichinava said after the meeting.
Gigi Bechvaia (Tbilisi, "WIT Georgia"), Roin Oniani and Levan Vartagava (Zugdidi, "Baia"), as well as Spartak Gogia and Kakhaber Kirtadze (Samtredia "Samtredia") received lifetime disqualifications.
Last week there was a scandal in Georgia because the players were accused of conspiring with owners of illegal book-keeping schemes. They agreed on the various arrangements during the match. The investigation is underway into the cases of all five players.
