It is planned to apply benefits for air tickets to Europe to the Azerbaijani youth, the European Youth Card Association President Jarkko Lehikoinen told journalists on Monday.
"During my visit to Baku I was informed about the fact that air tickets from Azerbaijan to Europe cost enough expensive. The Association's next plan is applying certain benefits while purchasing air tickets through youth cards," Lehikoinen said.
He said young people often face visa problems, and they pay additional funds to get visa.
"The Association studies all these problems and tries to apply benefits for both visa and air tickets," Lehikoinen added.
Lehikoinen met with members of the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations' Union on Monday and discussed with them the ways of addressing young people's problems.
The European Youth Card enables young people, under 30 years-old, to take advantage of benefits for 80,000 types of services in the sphere of culture, traveling, hotels, goods and services throughout Europe. Cards were issued and met with great satisfaction in 37 world countries. Over 4 million people around the world use these cards.
Azerbaijan joined the European Youth Card Association in March 2010.
