Maharram, the holy month of all Moslems, comes on 31 January and consequently Ashura Day will be marked on 9 January, the Caucasus Moslem Board (CMB) told Trend.
CMB addresses to Moslems with request to mark religious mourning without infliction of injure to themselves for bloodletting and keep order in holy places. Besides CMB notes that participation of the children uncomprehending the sense of mourning is inexpedient.
Ahura Day is due to be marked at mosques on the condition of compulsory keeping of public order, CMD says.
