BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. In the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21–April 20, 2025), non-oil exports through Iran’s Bileh Savar border terminal in the northwestern Ardabil Province increased by 14% compared to the same period last year, Kalimollah Vosoughi, Director General of Ardabil’s Road and Transport Department, told local media, Trend reports.
He said that over 73,600 tons of non-oil goods were exported through the Bileh Savar terminal in the one-month period. The main exports included fruits and vegetables, construction materials, metal products, ceramics, and cleaning supplies.
Vosoughi also reported that roughly 7,000 tons of goods were imported through the terminal during the same timeframe, marking a 166% increase from the previous year.
“In just one month, more than 33,000 tons of goods entered the country via Bileh Savar for transit, transported by 1,563 trucks,” he said. “During that time, over 60,000 tons of goods were exported through the terminal by 2,721 trucks.”
Located on the border with Azerbaijan, the Bileh Savar terminal serves as a key trade gateway, supporting Iran’s commerce with Azerbaijan and facilitating broader transit to Georgia and Russia.
