Level of Azerbaijani giant tax payers' debt is stable

Level of the Azerbaijani giant taxpayers' tax debts stabilized compared to early 2008 and totals 1.3 billion manat, Deputy Tax Minister Sahir Mamadkhanov said on May 1.
 
"Basically, this falls to 8 giant taxpayers, and there is almost not any debt in the private sector," Mamadkhanov said.

Mammadkhanov said Azerenergy and Azerigaz have tax debts in fuel-energy field and this debt amounts to roughly 1 billion manat. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) fully paid the debt, and the company had no debt in 2008, as well.

There are 10 giant taxpayers, including SOCAR, Azerenergy, Azerigaz, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, State Caspian Shipping, Azerkimiya State Enterprise, Baku Metro, Azerbaijan State Railway, AZAL and Azersu in Azerbaijan.

On May 1, the official exchange rate is 0.8035 manat to $1.
