Kazakhstan plans to export 15 million tons of grain

Kazakhstan plans to export to foreign markets roughly 15 million tons of grain harvest of 2011, the Novosti-Kazakhstan reported, referring to Kazakh Deputy Minister of Agriculture Marat Tolibaev.

"We have collected a record for years of independence harvest, more than 29 million tons of grain, it will allow us to talk this year about 15 million tons of grain in export potential," Tolibaev said on Wednesday at the International Conference "Agricultural Innovation: Kazakhstan's vector".

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture said Kazakhstan planed to harvest 22-23 million tons of grain in net weight. Export potential was estimated at 10 million tons.

According to the Ministry, the country harvested 99.7 percent of sown areas and harvested 29.3 million tons of grain by Oct. 26.
