Iran and Burundi have signed eight memorandums of understanding. The MoUs were signed during a meeting between the presidents of the two countries.
The MoUs relate to different fields including agriculture, education, health, visa, trade, economy and investment, the ISNA News Agency reported.
Burundi president Pierre Nkurunziza and the delegation accompanying him also met with the leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
During the visit, Ayatollah Khamenei said that Tehran welcomes the development, growth and unity of African nations.
Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to some hostile moves by the U.S. and European countries in Africa.
Iran's leader also expressed hope that African nations including Burundi will make great achievements.
For his part, the president of Burundi said he has travelled to Iran to improve bilateral ties. He went on to note that the African nations, especially his country want a better future.
