The Minsk Tractor Works and the Ganja Automobile Plant plan to expand production of “Belarus” tractors in Azerbaijan early next year, a source familiar with the matter told Trend.
The source noted that this promises financial benefits to the parties and will improve the cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan in mechanical engineering, which is one of the priority areas of bilateral cooperation.
“Presently, more than 250 companies that supply hundreds of commodity items are involved in bilateral trade,” the source said. “About 40 Azerbaijani companies are dealers and distributors of Belarus companies in Azerbaijan. There is progress in industrial cooperation and services, as well as in the investment field.”
A couple of years ago, the Ganja Automobile Plant became the biggest plant assembling Belarus tractors outside the Eurasian Economic Union.
About 8,000 “Belarus” tractors and more than 3,500 vehicles of the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) were assembled at the Ganja Automobile Plant.
