Minister: Nearly 25B manats allocated to develop Azerbaijani regions in 5 years (UPDATE)

In 2014-2018, 24.2 billion manats were allocated for development of the Azerbaijani regions, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev said on Jan. 29.

Mustafayev made the remarks at a conference in Baku, dedicated to implementation of the State Program for Socio-Economic Development of Regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018, Trend reports.

"Moreover, the allocation of additional 2.8 billion manats played a decisive role in accelerating the social and economic development," he added.

"The recent large-scale reforms in various sectors in Azerbaijan have yielded positive results,” he added. "For example, agricultural subsidies, tax exemptions, granting equipment and fertilizers on preferential terms, rendering leasing services, improving licensing, suspending inspections and other mechanisms play an important role in the development of entrepreneurship."
