TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.19
Trend:
Iran's Defense Ministry would offer support for domestic auto sector, said Brigadier General Amir Hatami, Trend reports via IRNA.
"In the situation with sanctions, and considering the demands of the automakers, the defense industry sector will support the car part production and help overcome any issues with national production," he said.
Iran's Defense Ministry has signed a cooperation agreement with SAIPA group to support the auto industry against sanctions and improve the domestic production.
Following the US sanctions against Iran, the country has been facing problems in terms of purchasing auto parts from abroad, while two major domestic auto makers, SAIPA and Iran Khodro (IKCO), had their share of issues, thanks to mismanagement and the arrest of two of their managers due to corruption.
