Georgia, Uzbekistan aim to improve economic collaboration, said Georgian Economic Minister Natia Turnava, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
She made the remark at a meeting with First Deputy Minister of Investments and External Trade of Uzbekistan Alisher Abdullayev held at the ministry on Feb.12.
Turnava talked about reforms conducted by Georgia and the business environment in the country, as well as the advantages the Uzbek Companies will have while investing in Georgia.
The parties stressed that Georgia and Uzbekistan are stable partners, but the potential of collaboration between the trade-economic cooperation is not fully developed yet. The sides also discussed the issues of cooperation in terms of investment attraction, transport, and tourism.
The Georgian minister stressed that Georgia should increase exports to Uzbekistan.
According to National Statistics Service of Georgia (Geostat), the trade cash flow between Georgia and Uzbekistan reached $105.51 million in 2019.
Georgia had 16,785 Uzbek visitors last year.
