State Plant Quarantine Inspection in Uzbekistan will improve the phytosanitary system and promote the development of the export potential of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to foreign countries, Trend reports referring to State Plant Quarantine Inspection.
Organic fruits, vegetables, and melons are grown in Uzbekistan are highly valued abroad. In this regard, agricultural products intended for export must undergo phytosanitary assessment, which is a requirement today.
In pursuance of the government's decision to significantly increase the export potential of the agricultural sector, the inspection is actively working to assist in expanding exports to foreign countries, including the United States.
The inspection received a phytosanitary permit from American specialists for several types of Uzbek agricultural products.
As a result, the export to the United States of 10 types of agricultural products, such as beans, mung beans, peas, peanuts, raisins, almonds, walnuts, apricots, and plums, was approved, which, according to the agreements, will be supplied overseas in large volumes.
Entrepreneurs can send their products without damaging the country's image, without going through quarantine facilities, provided they are kept in a clean phytosanitary condition.
Also, soon, it is expected to obtain a permit for the export of Uzbek melons to the United States.
The American side was informed about the completion of the pest risk analysis (PRS) procedure for melon and the transition to the next stage which is the publication of PRA for 30 days to obtain public opinion.
The US Phytosanitary Service also announced that it will forward phytosanitary requirements for market access to the US market for legumes and dried products shortly.
