KazMunaiGas (KMG) is not negotiating to buy the Helios filling station network, head of the National Welfare Fund Samruk Kazyna Timur Kulibayev told press on Wednesday.
"Commercial negotiations are not being held," he said. "The owner wanted to sell them, but now he changed his mind."
Previously, the Helios company together with the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant was a member of the largest private oil company Mangistaumunaigaz (MMG).
The Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant and Helios filling station network were put as separate lots and partially sold to KMG national company.
In his interview last year Kulibayev repeatedly reaffirmed KMG's intention to buy the Helios filling station network.
