Iran's Lorestan Province has exported only 200 tons of fish to neighbor countries, as the fish production was more focused on domestic demands, said Director General of Fisheries in the Province, Trend reports citing IRNA..
"The export volume will increase in the future, as the production grows, and the province continues to farm eyed eggs in cooperation with France," Kiarash Biranvand said
"The only eyed eggs farming center is located in Lorestan province. In addition, we are installing feed factory in cooperation with Danish fish company Bio Mar to increase the production," he added.
"Meanwhile, the certificate for establishing two fisheries-related tourist regions has been issued to the province," he indicated.
“We have tried to identify the regions with fish farming capacities and engage them in this sector. Lorestan’s 653 fish farms produce 25,913 tons of farmed fish annually," he said.
"The government goal is to use domestic and foreign investment capacities to improve employment and economic growth," he added.
