ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 5. The number of registered users of the Internet banking service in Turkmenistan at the beginning of April 2024 is over 1.07 million, Trend reports.
Data from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan show that these figures are 11 percent higher than the number of registered users at the beginning of the same month last year (965,592).
The largest number of registered users of this service lives in the Mary (244,762 users) and Lebap (238,029 users) regions, as well as in the city of Ashgabat (232,638 users).
Dayhanbank entered the top three banks by the largest number of users during the reporting period, with 393,842 users, followed by the Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank (365,715 users) and the Turkmenbashi Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (177,766 users).
Meanwhile, the Internet Banking application is used for non-cash replenishment of city and cell phones, IP-TV, and the Internet, as well as for paying loans and buying tickets for rail transport and intercity buses.
Turkmenistan's financial sector is experiencing steady growth, especially in the incorporation of mobile applications for various service and product payments. Transaction volumes are on the rise, accompanied by the introduction of new payment methods accessible through bank payment terminals.
