BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. The consumer price index (CPI) in Azerbaijan increased by 3.5 percent in September 2024 compared to the same period last year.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan indicates that inflation for food, beverages, and tobacco products increased by 2.9 percent, while non-food products saw a rise of 1.7 percent. Additionally, paid services to the population grew by 5.7 percent.
Overall, the inflation rate from January through September 2024 stood at 1.5 percent.
In September, prices rose for rice, beef, lamb, sausages, butter, eggs, peaches, nuts, tomatoes, beans, onions, and potatoes.
Non-food products saw price increases in building materials and jewelry.
Regarding services, there was a decrease in prices for international air passenger transport, while railway passenger transport experienced a price increase.
