ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 14. Turkmenistan's 'Daşoguztelekom' state-owned company exceeded its plan to install internet points by 33.8 percent last year in the Dashoguz region located in the north of the country, Trend reports.

According to official data, during the specified period, the company installed more than 9,100 Internet points, instead of the planned 6,800 points.

Furthermore, a total of 6,300 new telephone points were also connected in the northern region of the country last year, which is 5 percent more than planned (6,000 points).

In general, the main reason for the sharp increase in network users was the commissioning of new residential and social infrastructure facilities.

At the moment, 'Daşoguztelekom' specialists are working on the development and implementation of new modern digital solutions in the regional communication system.

Meanwhile, in Turkmenistan, the development of digitalization continues to gain momentum, with government efforts and investments playing a key role in this process.

Government programs to develop digital infrastructure and Internet access, as well as assistance in developing digital skills among the population, contribute to increasing the number of Internet users and expanding access to digital services.
