BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 4. In November this year, Azerbaijan rolled out the red carpet for a whopping 202,440 foreign visitors, marking a 19 percent leap from the same time last year when the number stood at 169,461, Trend reports.

According to the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, the top 10 countries by the number of foreigners visiting Azerbaijan in the period from January through November this year included citizens of Russia (679,900 people), Türkiye (389,170 people), India (214,660 people), Iran (193,980 people), Georgia (99,930 people), Saudi Arabia (93,890 people), Kazakhstan (79,730 people), Pakistan (72,860 people), China (42,370 people), and Uzbekistan (40,930 people).

As many as 2,412,160 foreigners visited Azerbaijan in the period from January through October this year, which is 27 percent higher than the figure for the same period in 2023 (1,892,165).

However, 2,086,548 foreigners visited Azerbaijan in 2023, which is more than 30.2 percent higher than the figure for 2022 (1,602,600).

To note, 119,094 tourists visited Azerbaijan in January 2023, 113,473 in February, 136,505 in March, 154,233 in April, 190,081 in May, 205,910 in June, 224,826 in July, 200,138 in August, 192,115 in September, 187,843 in October, 169,461 in November, and 192,869 in December.
