BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 12. Kyrgyzstan's GDP reached approximately 952 billion soms ($11 billion) from January through September 2024, which is an 8.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the annual GDP growth rate amounted to 6.6 percent for January through August 2024.
The industrial output during the nine-month period totaled around 394 billion soms ($4.6 billion), which is a 4.2 percent rise year-on-year.
Overall, remarkable growth was observed across multiple sectors, with construction skyrocketing by 36.9 percent, wholesale and retail trade surging by 16.6 percent, and agriculture experiencing a robust growth of 6.7 percent.
Looking ahead, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) projects Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth rate to reach 9 percent in 2024, with a slight moderation to 7 percent expected in 2025.
In 2023, Kyrgyzstan's GDP surpassed a historical high of 1.2 trillion soms ($13.4 billion), achieving a growth rate of 6.2 percent.
