DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 20. Tajikistan was visited by 748,300 foreigners from January through June 2024.
According to data obtained by Trend from the country’s statistical agency among these, 580,500 arrived as tourists, which is a 19.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
During the reporting period, tourists from 127 countries visited Tajikistan, with the top five countries contributing the most visitors being Uzbekistan (205,100), Russia (31,900), Kazakhstan (7,100), China (2,800), and Türkiye (2,500).
Currently, 338 entities in Tajikistan are providing tourism services, including 209 hotels, 46 hostels and motels, 54 resorts, 5 children's resorts and health camps, 7 wellness centers and clinics, 10 rest houses, 3 campgrounds, and 4 tourist health bases.
In 2023, Tajikistan welcomed 1.256 million tourists, a 20.2 percent increase from 2022, with 92.5 percent of visitors coming from CIS countries.
