BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. Uzbekistan will put into operation a new gas-piston thermal power plant (TPP) with a capacity of 220 MW in the Khavast district of the Syrdarya region,Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.
The TPP is being built by the Turkish Chengiz Energy company.
Construction and installation work has been completed at the facility, commissioning work is underway.
In two weeks, the power plant will be connected to the unified power grid of Uzbekistan and will start transmitting electricity.
The production capacity of this power plant is 1.7 billion kWh of electricity per year.
