TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 27. Uzbekistan has adopted a number of new rules for the operations of traffic in the country, Trend reports.

The discussion primarily revolved around the regulation of traffic on road sections undergoing repair and reconstruction. According to the new rule, these sections may only be restricted or closed for travel by up to 50 percent of their capacity. Should the need arise to close them by more than 50 percent, alternative detours must be provided.

Furthermore, the rule stipulates that decisions regarding the construction of parking lots within the specified boundaries of areas adjacent to residential buildings fall under the jurisdiction of local government authorities, following approved territorial layout documentation.

Construction activities must adhere to established urban planning norms and rules, with a particular focus on environmental safety and minimizing adverse effects on the environment and public well-being.

The rule also designates specific areas for vehicles powered by electric motors, where access to electric power sources may be available. Additionally, it contains a separate article outlining the requirements for paid parking spaces and the rights and responsibilities of their owners.

The parliamentary discussion also delved into the rights and obligations of road users, emphasizing that the rule sets forth regulations regarding the acquisition of driving privileges and the prerequisites for driver training. It also outlines the circumstances under which driving privileges can be revoked.

Overall, the rule's primary purpose is to enhance the safety of individuals on the roads, establish orderly and systematic traffic management, foster efficient collaboration among authorities, and safeguard the rights and interests of road users.

Overall, Uzbekistan is actively engaged in the enhancement and modernization of its transportation systems to elevate the quality and efficiency of cargo transportation.

Significant investments are directed towards the expansion and modernization of the road network, the improvement of rail transport conditions, the modernization of airports, and the development of seaports.
