Tehran will strongly confront any interference by foreign countries in its internal affairs, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said, Press TV reported with reference to IRNA.
"We will not accept any country's interference in our internal affairs... all the countries should respect other nations' rights," Mehmanparast said the remarks during a press conference in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.
He added that the Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa are inspired by the Islamic Revolution of Iran and Iranians' resistance.
Mehmanparast went on to say that plots hatched by the US and Israel against Iran have failed to yield the intended effect, noting that US and its allies face serious problems and crises now.
Earlier in September, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that as long as the interference of foreign countries continues in the region terrorism cannot be uprooted.
