Iran discloses volume of country's non-oil trade turnover

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 23. Iran's non-oil trade turnover increased to $36 billion during the four months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through July 21, 2024), the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance and Director General of Iran's Customs Administration, Mohammad Rezvanifar, said at a meeting with members of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture in Tehran on July 23, Trend reports

According to him, exports amounted to $17.5 billion of Iran's non-oil trade turnover in the past four months. This is an 8 percent increase compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through July 22, 2023).

Rezvanifar pointed out that $18.5 billion of Iran's non-oil imports came from imports during the past four months. Imports of products decreased by 6 percent compared to the same period last year.

The meeting of Iran's Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance with members of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture reviewed the problems of Iran's foreign trade and customs and put forward proposals to eliminate these challenges.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing the products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on importing the products manufactured in the country.
