BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 9. Iran's tractor production increased by 10.5 percent during seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through October 22, 2023), the director general of the ministry’s Office of Agricultural, Construction, and Mining Machinery Abouzar Jamshidvand told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 21,000 tractors were produced in the country during seven months. However, during the same period last year, the country's tractor production amounted to 19,000 units.
The official noted that 430 combines were produced in the country during seven months. Production of combines increased by 10 percent compared to the same period last year. During the same period last year, the production of combines in the country stood at 395 units.
Jamshidvand indicated that timely provision of loans to farmers accelerates their quick utilization of new equipment and machinery as well as production of agricultural machinery.
To note, Iran cultivates more than 130 million tons of agricultural products per year on average. Agricultural land in Iran totals more than 12 million ha.
