The Iranian Staff for the Management of Fuel Transportation has announced that reports about a $26.7 million embezzlement do not notify a new case.
The case relates to the activities of the staff from years 2009 to 2012 and does not concern the incumbent administration, the public relations department of the staff announced, Fars news agency reported September 6.
The case is under special legal procedures with expert teams from the Ministry of Intelligence, the General Inspection Office, and the Parliament, the announcement reads.
The report adds that a number of people have so far been arrested in relation to the case.
The case was recently brought to public attention by Mehdi Mousavi Nejad, member of the Parliament's Energy Commission, who urged stronger supervision over the staff as a corruption-prone organization.
