Trend:

First meeting related to investigation of Iran's capital market was held in Iranian parliament, Trend reports via Mehr news agency.

The investigation is being held to analyze the performance of the Tehran Stock Exchange and reveal the violations.

Back in 2019, Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) index soared to new heights. In the first four months of the Iranian fiscal year (March 20, 2020-July 21, 2020), the value of trades increased by 625 percent as compared with the corresponding period a year earlier, and the market hit a record high in early August 2020. Then the bubble burst.

The TEDPIX is now hovering around the 1.4-million-point– more than 40 percent off its August 2020 high.

On Jan. 3, Director of Public Relations and International Affairs of the Stock Exchange and Securities Organization, Mohammad Hadi Salimizadeh, announced that the first meeting of the Capital Market Research and Investigation of the Iranian parliament was held.
