BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 14. Georgia's foreign trade turnover increased by 20.1 percent, reaching $10.3 billion (excluding unorganized trade), from January through June 2023 compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

According to the Sakstat - National Statistics Service of Georgia, the country imported products worth more than $7 billion in the first half of 2023, which is 20.4 percent higher compared to the data of the first half of 2022. Exports amounted to about $3.1 billion, which is 19.2 percent more in comparison with the same period last year.

Georgia's trade balance turned out to be negative and amounted to $4.2 billion since the beginning of 2023, which is almost 21.3 percent higher compared to the same indicator for the first half of 2022.

Meanwhile, Georgia's foreign trade turnover increased by 32.8 percent and reached more than $19 billion (excluding unorganized trade) in 2022 compared to 2021. Exports of Georgian products amounted to about $5.6 billion last year, which is almost 32 percent more than in 2021.

The country imported products worth $13.5 billion during the reporting period, which is 33.2 percent more in comparison with 2021.
