Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will
appear on stage together next week for the first time since their long and
tight battle for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination came to an end.
In a brief statement Friday, the Obama campaign announced the former
rivals would make a joint campaign appearance on June 27 but gave no further
details.
Clinton endorsed Obama earlier this month and promised to help secure his
victory in November's general election against presumptive Republican nominee
John McCain.
The announcement comes as Obama works to reunite the Democratic Party after an
at-times bitter and divisive five-month nomination fight that left many Clinton
voters disaffected.
Obama held a series of meetings Thursday with labour unions
and members of Congress that had supported his Democratic rival, dpa reported.
