Up to 28 killed, 57 injured in Baghdad suicide bombing

Up to 28 people were killed and 57 others injured in a suicide bombing targeted police recruits outside police academy in Baghdad on Sunday, an Interior Ministry source said, Xinhua reported.

A suicide bomber blew up his explosive vest among a crowd of people lined up at the rear of the Police Academy building in eastern Baghdad to sign up to join the Iraqi police, the source said.

Despite the security gains in recent months in Iraq, there are still sporadic bombings, which shape setback to the Iraqi government.
