Israeli cargo shipments through Turkish ports for January 2021 revealed

The volume of transshipment of goods from Israel across the ports of Turkey surpassed 1.4 million tons in January 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Feb.15.

According to the ministry, during the reporting month, the volume of cargo shipment from Israel by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 163,770 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – over 1.2 million tons.

Meanwhile, 22,475 tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Israeli flag, and 31,700 tons were transited via Turkish ports.

In January 2021, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to over 29.1 million tons, including more than 2.5 million tons by ships flying the Turkish flag.

During the reporting month, 6.04 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

Besides, according to the ministry, in 2020, the volume of cargo movement through the Turkish ports amounted to 365.4 million tons. Some 29.6 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 335.7 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Over the past year, more than 72.4 million tons of cargo had been transited through the ports of Turkey, added the ministry.
