The relations between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan have a solid foundation.
Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov said at a press conference on the results of the 7th Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process Ministerial Conference in Baku on Dec.1.
"Azerbaijan and Afghanistan have friendly and fraternal relations. These relations have a solid foundation," Azimov said.
He said that the Baku Declaration, adopted at the end of the ministerial, is not an ordinary result of the conference.
"This document is of great importance, since it allows the implementation of political statements in practice," the deputy minister added.
The “Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process" is an important regional platform for political dialogue and close regional cooperation aimed at promoting stability, peace and prosperity in region, and for enhancing Afghanistan's connectivity with the entire region.
The participating states are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Nations.
