Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez received a visiting Japanese delegation in Miraflores Palace Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
Chavez told state broadcaster VTV that he had met members of the delegation some months ago in Tokyo and invited them to visit Venezuela.
They discussed regional issues, including the disputes relating to Colombia's decision to allow U.S. military access to its bases.
The Japanese delegation arrived on Monday and visited Venezuelan government projects in communities.
