ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 30. With the participation of Chinese investors, a number of important agricultural projects have been successfully implemented in Kazakhstan, and the implementation of five more investment projects is planned, Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yermek Kenjehanuly said at the 21st China International Agricultural Products Exhibition, Trend reports.

As part of this exhibition, in which Kazakhstan is an honorary guest, the delegation of Kazakhstan held a meeting with leading agricultural companies from the Chinese province of Guangdong.

Vice Minister of Agriculture Ermek Kenjehanuly noted that China is one of Kazakhstan's most important trade-economic and investment partners.

"Agriculture is a key component of bilateral relations. In 2023, the trade turnover of agricultural products with China grew by 1.7 times, exceeding $1.3 billion. This highlights our mutual interest in developing this sector. We export mainly grains, oilseeds, and vegetable oils to China. From China, we import fruits and vegetables, citrus fruits, and nuts. This trade turnover dynamics is not the limit. There is huge untapped potential between our countries," said the vice minister.

Members of the Kazakhstani delegation noted that among the priority areas are the export of high-quality livestock, crop products, and processed products.

To note, Kazakhstan annually produces agricultural products worth about $20 billion and processed products worth $6 billion. Over the past five years, the total export volume of agricultural products has almost doubled, reaching $5.4 billion. In the next five years, this figure is expected to reach $10 billion.
