BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts that the Henry Hub spot price will average around $3.00/MMBtu for the remainder of the winter heating season, Trend reports.

According to the agency, U.S. natural gas prices continued to decline in November, marking the second consecutive month of falling prices.

The Henry Hub natural gas spot price averaged slightly above $2.00 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), down from $2.20/MMBtu in October. This decline was largely due to mild autumn weather, which persisted in the first half of November.

Additionally, the U.S. entered the winter heating season with a 6% increase in natural gas storage levels compared to the five-year average (2019–2023), easing concerns about supply shortages.

However, prices began to rise toward the end of November and into early December, as colder weather swept across the eastern U.S. Despite these recent fluctuations, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts that the Henry Hub spot price will average around $3.00/MMBtu for the remainder of the winter heating season, which concludes in March.

Looking ahead to 2025, the EIA projects natural gas prices will remain just under $3.00/MMBtu.
