ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 18. Preparation for spring fieldwork continues in the Zhetisu region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the aggregate cultivated expanse of agronomic species within the region is projected to surpass 510,000 hectares, comprising cereals at 295,300 hectares, oilseeds at 89,700 hectares, sugar beets at 12,200 hectares, potatoes at 6,800 hectares, forage crops at 97,300 hectares, alongside various other categories.
"To successfully carry out the sowing campaign, 52,100 tons of spring crop seeds have been prepared. Seed laboratory testing is ongoing. For sowing sugar beet, 17,400 tons of seeds are needed, most of which will be provided by the Koksu sugar plant and agricultural production cooperative 'Zhetisu'. The region's farms will require 58,800 tons of mineral fertilizers," the statement reads.
The ministry also emphasized that to ensure the normal conduct of spring fieldwork, 5,500 tons of subsidized diesel fuel will be allocated to farmers.
In the framework of the "Ken Dala-1" and "Ken Dala-2" programs, 3.7 billion tenge ($7.4 million) is allocated for spring fieldwork in 2025. As of today, 170 applications have been submitted to the "Agrarian Credit Corporation" for a total of 4.3 billion tenge ($8.6 million), and financing has already been provided for 77 applications amounting to 2.5 billion tenge ($5 million).
During the sowing period, 20,414 units of machinery will be involved in Kazakhstan, with 99 percent of special equipment already prepared for the start of work.
